“A” List Event – Spring Sale by “Billion Dollar Babes”

Billion Dollar Babes did it again.

Billion Dollar Babes returned to Los Angeles for a sparkling spring sale on May 30 and 31, 2008, in West Hollywood, offering tens of thousands of contemporary designer apparel, shoes and accessories at up to 80 % off.

I went there with my usual company for fashion bashes, Gina, on Friday for VIPs. We had a hard time finding a parking spot, but luckily we were able to manage it.

VIP Friday was a little quieter than the Saturday one, which we liked. However, name brand designers’ clothes and also independent designers’ unique jewelry and accessory still drew out a big crowd and made people enjoy the great goods and took advantage of the sale.

We started our shopping from sweeping through the racks and racks of designer clothes.

Just to name a few designers participated at the event, private Escada boutique featured over 1200 pieces of their latest spring 2008 collection straight from store shelves, all at 60% off. They offered more discount on Saturday. Eli Tahari who joined BDB for the first time was the one I went there for, and of course their metalic silver colored trenches and trapeze jackets didn’t disappoint me. Cameron Diaz’s adored James Jeans were marked down to $80 (retail $185), Debra Rodman‘s perfect party dresses were only $98, and summer’s colorful and sexy silhouette Tibi and classy and modern together Ziji also had a big discount.

The fitting room was a little crazy with women trying on their finds, but over all it was well-organized and enjoyable.

Of course, I couldn’t miss out Jewelry! Citrine By the Stones was bold and unique as usual. My new find, Sikara, was a modern fusion of an Asian or Eastern style.

My another new find was Marcello Toshi for unique and decorated shoes. They brought spring/summer 2008 collection that is not on their site yet. I loved their Tulipan and the one with creamy colored wool roses on the back (picture below).

The hosted Garden Lounge Bar helped us to rest our legs a bit and relax and talk about our purchases and quench our thirst with free martinis, cocktails, and wines.

I should also mention that other accessories and jewelry I saw at the event surprised me with their high qualities. Although some of the stuff repeated popular patterns and materials over and over, but still everything impressed me to remind myself to create more distinctive and unique jewelry.

Well, that was it. The late dinner at Newsroom was pretty good too. It was a great fun!
